Ara Tecnologia developed the multimedia guide solution for the Sant Feliu de Guíxols’ History Museum.

These multimedia guides are based on the generic solution developed by Ara Tecnologia which uses an in-cloud content management system. They also include a guided tour option that uses the same technology available in the WiFiCast app.

The devices on site available to the visitors are LG X150.

TimeCode transmission for synchrony uses

MediaLoop is an app that makes you able to stream the actual timecode position of a current reproduction of media.

This app is intended to create a easy-to-parse timecode multicast feed, in order to take synchronization actions with other devices.

Once configured the first time, the app will remember the media and network settings to start playing as soon as it starts (AutoPlay).

This app is perfect for museums, multi-language shows and many other synchronization needed purposes.

Technological innovation at History’s service

With the arrival of 2015, Ara Tecnologia presents the latest breakthrough technology from Microsoft regarding implementation of depth sensors and perception of people in real time: Microsoft Kinect v2. Implemented on the 1st floor of the Gaudí Centre Reus, this little technological marvel, eliminates the background of a scene and replaces it with the desired image or landscape, keeping the the people intact. Using this revolutionary system,coming from the entertainment consoles from Microsoft, anyone who visits the museum can be transported to various modernist Reus spaces, closed to the public, such as the Casa Navas or the different rooms of the Institut Pere Mata . With new technology, you won’t miss any Gaudí’s secret.

Interactive space, interactive software

The device, appropriately mounted within the body of an old camera, remains focused on a virtual set, always available for visitors, and a touchscreen interacts with it. After the photo i taken, the user is allowed to send via e-mail the final image, generated using exclusive software developed by Ara Tecnologia, which comes together with the device, and is responsible for guiding the user, and occasionally including corrections and processes that can soften and even apply effects to the product, such as greyscale, aging effects, color management, etc. All in real time (30fps). With this set-up and a proper lighting management, you can produce images amazingly credible without having to install flashy and expensive chromas.

GPX Viewer is a GPX routes viewer for iOS and Android. You can use it to see GPX files downloadaed from an URL or using another app installed on the device (email, online hard disk, etc). You can chose to veiew your location, thus you can see your location together with the route depicted.

Fort Marlborough

The fort stands on the southern side of the entrance to Maó harbour, in the cove Cala de Sant Esteve, and was built by the British between 1720 and 1726. It owes its name to Sir John Churchill, Duke of Marlborough, the most prominent British General of the time. Together with Sant Felip Castle and the Stuart Tower, or En Penjat Tower, its role was to protect the entrance to the port of Maó. In 1782 the fort was partially destroyed by the Spanish and had to be rebuilt, with a few modifications, during the last period of British rule (1798-1802).

Ara Tecnologia developed the multemedia guide needed to visit the fort. The guide includes a game and augmented reality.
